So, I have had nothing to blog, no posts, no updates, nothing. So... since there's nothing on TV, I finished my book and my hubby is studying... I'll blog. Although this probably isn't worth mentioning even, since it was just a check-up. It's pretty much the only thing we've done lately...
We went for Sam's final check up at Primary Children's Medical Center last Friday. (I took the picture with my cell phone... I didn't bring a camera).
So, I have to admit it was a little strange for me walking back into that place. Even parking in the parking garage. I went up there every day for so long... It brought back all these weird memories/feelings. The best way I can describe it is going back to your elementary school and walking the halls, but different of course. Weird, I can't really describe it.
For those of you who don't know, if your infant winds up here they test for all birth defects just to be sure. So, although he was in there for other reasons... they checked everything out and he had some holes in his heart. They haven't ever caused him problems, but the cardiologist wanted to check Sam out one more time before he started school, just to check. (Now they say that a lot of the population actually has holes in their hearts, 20-25% of them, and they just don't know it and they don't cause them any problems.)
Everything was great, which we suspected they would since he has never had any of the symptoms they said to look for.
But it was seriously the coolest visit. Sam was a little freaked out at first because we heard a kid screaming when we first got there. After the visit they gave both Sam and Kate little tokens to get prizes out of a machine. Then the Dr gave both of them teddy bears with hearts on them. So nice to be so thoughtful of a little sister that might be jealous. That place is a great place. I never want to go there ever ever again. But if you have to be there, it's a great place.

Check out those muscles!!!
I can't believe he is ready for kindergarten, that is crazy. I remember visiting him and my heart breaking because you couldn't pick him up and only touch his foot.
What a handsome young man!! and a great miracle!!
I've always been really happy being so close to that place, they are probably THE most kid friendly around there. ANd they always have something for the kids. Glad Sam is healthy!
I'm so glad that Sam's healthy. I agree that it's not somewhere you want to go, but as far as hospitals & kids go- they are pretty great.
Of course I don't care if you look at my blog. I would prefer if you stalked me! I look at your from Monique's once in a while. I just need to add you to my list!
