I left my heart in San Francisco!

We just got back from a trip to San Francisco. It was so fun! We went with some friends of ours. We left on my birthday, and our friend told the flight attendant it was my birthday... they didn't sing to me. But they announced a "special visitor" and said I was "Queen of Southwest" for the day. How about that? they even made me a crown of pretzels.
That night we went to Wicked. It was incredible. We have seen it in New York, and it was just as good, if not better.
We rented tandem bikes and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Here's a pic of breakfast one morning. Just too good to not take a picture of.
Here's a famous guy. (So famous I don't know his name). But he's a comedian and also "The Marriage Ref" we saw him on the streets the night before and I swore it was him. Then we went into Barnes and Noble and saw him again and Michael and John chased him down... and lo and behold, it was him.
We went to Fisherman's Wharf and to Pier 39 to see the sea lions.
Lombard Street
Our hot fudge sundae from Ghiradelli (also too good to not take a picture).
Alcatraz. Very cool tour. I have already posted too many pics, or I'd post some of the inside. It used to be a maximum security prison for those who don't know, with some very famous inmates (Al Capone).
Us, getting off the trolley.

New Pics of the Kids

I think they turned out pretty good, if I say so myself. I had to bribe Katelyn with being able to wear lipstick if she wore those boots for me (she wanted to wear some hideous dress up shoes that she calls her sparkly princess shoes). And Sam insisted on wearing the blue striped shirt, so I told him he we could take a picture in it. I've needed to do this for a while now. I didn't order school pictures for Sam because they are expensive and you have to pay for them before you even see them. No thank you.

4 things Tag...

My friend from elementary school tagged me on her blog. (I did go to Jr. High and HS with her, but we sadly didn't do much beyond elementary school. I don't know why, she's a great girl and it seems like we have a lot in common because a lot of her 4 things are the SAME!)

I haven't had anything to post since, well, Sam's birthday at the end of the the year. We've had Winter Madness here (if you watch 30 Rock, you will understand) basically Winter Blues, Cabin Fever, etc. WE'VE BEEN STUCK IN THE HOUSE IN THE COLD WITH NOTHING GOING ON!
So, here's my tag of 4 things.

4 shows I like to watch: (I watch many more (too many more)... but some are with the hubby, and these ones are just for me.)
  • Lost
  • The Office
  • Glee
  • Food Network (What? That's not a show? That's a network... huh. Ok, there's just so many shows on there that I love that I can't list them all... like Chopped, Iron Chef, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Unwrapped... ).

4 things I'm passionate about:

  • My kids
  • Reading
  • Food (Thus my food network obsession... )
  • Can I list my kids again?

4 phrases I say a lot:
  • "You've got to be kidding me."
  • "Blast!" (I changed to this from crap, because my son was saying crap a lot... and now Katelyn says "Blast!" all the time).
  • "We'll see." (In response to something I don't want to answer that my kids want, but I don't want an arguement. I say "We'll see" and hopefully they forget about it.)
  • "Seriously?"
4 things I have learned from the past:

  • Enjoy your kids at the stage they are in, it changes SOOO fast.
  • I never want anything more until I can't have it :)
  • Sometimes, all you need is a treat.
  • "It will all turn out in the end, and if it's not turning out, it's not the end." (I put this in quotes because I didn't make it up -- but I like it, and I think it's true).

4 places I would like to go:

  • San Francisco to see WICKED! -- ok, I'm going to this. I'm so excited.
  • Somewhere WARM!
  • Cheesecake Factory - for their avacado egg rolls. Yum.
  • Anywhere... sometimes just away is nice.
4 things I did yesterday:
  • Cut my sister's hair
  • Took Kate to dance
  • Finished my brother's taxes
  • Ordered a battery for our cordless phone

4 things I'm looking forward to:

  • San Francisco (I can list it twice).
  • Being warm enough to go for walks and the kids to play outside.
  • Mowing the lawn
  • The last book of the Hunger Games series (coming this August).

4 things on my wish list:

  • That my kids are happy and healthy and that they will know I always tried my best to be a good parent (I know that sounds sappy... but I think about this everyday. It truly is a wish of mine).
  • Carpet (I hate our upstairs carpet, one day we will change it).
  • New swing set for the yard. The teeter totter portion broke this fall and I don't know how we'll survive the summer without it!
  • Michael to pass all of his tests -- no pressure ;)

4 people I tag:

(I'm going to copy my friend here and tag some friends who haven't posted anything on their blogs in a while)

  • Rachel
  • Sarah
  • Jenny
  • Andrea
