So, here I am checking blogs and there are no updates. Can't you guys help me waste some time :)
So here's my inspiration to all of you, I am blogging so that I can see how you are all doing?! It seems like we are crazy busy around here and although we've been busy I feel disconnected to the friends and family I love. I know school has started, babies have been or will be born... there has to be some news or at least someone venting about something!?
Ok, here we go. So, summer has come and gone. I can hardly believe it. It was such a blur, it came and went so fast. This summer we started a remodel on our home. It started out not as a remodel, but just that we've been wanting new carpet. Then the carpet turned into new paint, then a new wall, a new door... it's getting out of hand. But I love it! (The way it looks, not necessarily what we're going through to get the project done). Currently we are all living in our basement and have been for over a month... it feels a little like camping but we will soon be done. (Camping you say... in a house, with bathrooms, I say camping because it's as close to camping as I like). I say "soon" to will it to be done soon... we have already been like this for much longer than I imagined. I'll have to post pictures later.. (My hubby grits his teeth every time he thinks that we didn't get before pictures... I'll do my best to find some before pics). But so far we've ripped out all the carpets, the new wall is in, the new door is in, the paint is done (minus the laundry room and bathrooms) light fixtures are moved, etc. We are done to the point where we need carpet! (Which tons more work will need to be done once that is here to get our lives back together like putting back on doors, hinges, door knobs, etc.) I've stepped on more tack strips than I thought possible, for some reason I am a magnet for them.
Here's what we've all been up to in addition to our home project:
Camille is 8 months old and she's a busy little thing. She's crawling, and has been for nearly a month! Ug. None of my kids crawled that early. Her motivation has been that she loves to crawl to the carpet remnants we have strategically placed over the tack strips to try and spare our feet, and pulls of bits of carpet and eats them. She's growing up way too fast. She's had her first ear infection, poor kiddo.
Katelyn has had pneumonia and is struggling with her asthma (darn school) where she's on steroids right now and breathing treatments pretty regularly. They also have us smack her on the back trying to open up those lungs. She started kindergarten and dance (and LOVES both of them).
Sam has been healthy! (Thanks, I'm sure to getting his tonsils out).
Hmm, it's been kind of an all consuming project. So we didn't do much else. Well, we went to the Hubby's 20 yr reunion. He's glad we went. What else? He's been doing the painting and the heavy grunt work while I help with what I can with my baby.
Me: Skipped my 15 yr reunion, but that weekend I bumped into a friend from HS. Here's our conversation:
Him: "Hi! Sarah right?"
Me: "Nope, Judy"
Him: "Oh, that's right, I'm sorry I knew that. You married?"
Me: "Yep (had my kids with me, and introduced them)."
Him: "Oh, so what's your last name?"
Me: "Gardner"
Him: "Still?"
Hmmm. I guess I'm recognizable and yet so very forgettable :) Made me glad we skipped my reunion. That night he requested my friendship on facebook.
So, as soon as I can dig my way through our stuff to my regular computer where our pictures are I will post some pics.
